Here is an example of
what a rowdy lot my Holman's were:
'Court
Sessions 20th October 1860
Guildhall
: J. Perrott cordwainer of Bridgetown charged Helen Holman
with assault. "On 17th August, 9 o'clock in the evening
I was coming from my garden to my house when the defendant
came from her house and said, 'I'll limb you, you b***?*?.'
She aimed a desperate blow at me. She did not hit me but
the blow struck against the door. She said, 'Come out here
and I'll limb you and I'll tear your henge out.'"
Case
proved and fined 1s and 8s 6d expenses. Fine was paid.'
