Choosing Dates for Gifts
Complete
Family Trees as Gifts
If
you intend to present your family tree to someone as a gift you
need to leave plenty of time for research. We cannot measure the
progress of historical research, or anticipate its outcome which
is why we recommend at least four
months for investments up
to £400.00 and six months plus
for sums larger than £400.00. (See
below if you do not have four months plus before your Gift Day)
When you choose your first Gift Date on the Application Form please
consider the above.
Choosing a Second Gift Day
We ask customers to choose a second
gift day if we cannot deliver their report by their first choice.
We have had examples of some clients selecting the 15th December
as their primary choice and then the 22nd December as their secondary!
This is of no use to us as the second
date is meant to give us time to finish research and a week is
a very short time in family history terms!
Instead we ask customer's to consider
that their Second Gift Day choice
be a Birthday, Easter gift, Father's Day,
Mother's Day, Anniversary, Baptism, Birth of child, Confirmation
Gift or Graduation Day Gift.
This
would at least give us extra weeks
or months to complete research if
we hit problems rather than just seven days.
Christmas
is just two months away, can I still get a Family Tree?
Yes. For an extra £70.00 you can
actually split your research if you want to present it as a gift,
but do not have enough time for full research. We will research
as much as possible for your Christmas Gift and prepare the report
for presentation by Christmas. The second half of research will
resume after Christmas and will continue until all funds have
been used; a new report or addendum will be prepared and you will
be able to present it to your nearest and dearest when required.
If you are interested in this option please contact us by e-mail
providing the total amount you want to pay for research and what
type of report you are interested in.
Thank
you.
